7,150 Alabamians have logged 246,575 miles

Introducing: Noah Galloway

You may have first seen him dancing across America’s most popular stage in Season 20 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” or gracing the cover of Men’s Health magazine, but now you’re likely to find Noah Galloway leading the way to a healthier, more active Alabama as the official spokesperson for the 100 Alabama Miles Challenge!

A lifelong fitness fanatic, Noah was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, where he competed in many sports as a child. After 9/11, he was inspired to apply his physical abilities to the service of our country and enlisted with the U.S. Army.

Three months into his second deployment in Iraq, he was injured in an explosion, losing his left arm above the elbow and his left leg above the knee. During his recovery, he began focusing on fitness and reconnecting with his passion for sports that he had as a child.

In the years since, he has toured the country as a personal trainer and motivational speaker, and has been involved with numerous charity organizations, even establishing the No Excuses Charitable Fund.

Now, Noah is looking to encourage Alabamians from all walks of life and with all different abilities to enjoy the beauty our state parks and nature preserves have to offer by logging 100 miles of activity in 2018. It doesn’t matter if you walk, run, hike, bike, swim, paddle, ride or roll, grab your friends and family and be active, go explore and connect with others!

“The 100 Alabama Miles Challenge is a great way to get outside, enjoy the company of friends and family, and see our beautiful state! As someone who loves physical activity and the outdoors, I am excited to be the spokesperson for this important program. Join me in taking the 100 Alabama Miles Challenge and log your 100 miles of activity each year! It’s fun and exciting, and at just two miles a week, you can do this!”
